Wedding photographer questions
It is important to ask your wedding photographer questions before deciding on who you would like to book. These are some of the questions we are regularly asked.
Why should I book a professional photographer?
Photographing weddings is our full time job. We have years of experience recognising what will work and what will not for a particular venue, location or couple. We are used to putting people at ease when we photograph them and working with every different combination of lighting and setting that we could possibly encounter. We use the very latest professional equipment and bring along additional lighting should mother nature not co-operate on the day.
A wedding is a challenging environment for a photographer because as well as ensuring total coverage of the day for the bride and groom there is a huge factor of interacting with guests, suppliers and venues to make sure that all the events of the day are fully recorded. It is not possible to be a relaxed guest and a photographer at the same time, trust us, we’ve tried it!
How many photographers will be photographing my wedding?
You can choose between one or two photographers, If you are having a very large wedding, we can arrange for an additional photographer for an extra charge.
How many photographs will we receive?
Your high resolution USB drive will contain at least 250 individual images although the usual number is between 350 and 500. These are the very best pictures taken on the day and each print will be individually corrected and presented in colour or black and white depending on which best suits the mood of the image. As each print is individual and we do not include many different versions of the same shot you should expect to love every one.
Will you photograph group shots?
We understand that all couples will want some group shots and we generally take these at the reception venue once everyone has had a chance to congratulate you and grab a glass of bubbly. We will ask you to nominate a responsible person to round up the relevant people and to provide us and the usher with a list of groups in advance of the wedding. We are happy to photograph any groups you like but recommend you factor in at least five minutes per group as although it only takes a minute to take the shot, rounding people up can take a little time!
We would like some special photographs of the two of us, is this possible?
Absolutely. We will take the bride and groom to one side two or three times throughout the day and evening. This will allow us to photograph you in different locations and make the most of the changing light throughout the day. All couples enjoy these fun, relaxed sessions as it gives them a few minutes together away from the noise and bustle of the day.
How long does it take until I can see my photographs?
Within 48 hours we will post a few images from your wedding on our blog. As soon as the complete set of images is ready they will be loaded into a password protected gallery. You can then give friends and family the password for viewing at your convenience.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
The benefit of hiring professional wedding photographers is that we have the equipment, knowledge, experience and skill to cope in absolutely any situation regardless of the weather. We may have to shoot indoors but in even the simplest venue it is still possible to create some lovely images.
Are you insured? Yes, we hold full professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
I would like to book you to photograph my wedding. What do I do next?
Please contact us to check we are free on your wedding date. Most couples come to see us before booking to view completed albums and our wedding slide show although this is not essential. You will be asked to complete a booking form and pay a retainer to secure the date. The final payment is due four weeks before the wedding date.
