Reportage wedding photography

Reportage wedding photography is also known as photojournalism or candid wedding photography and it refers to photographs which are unposed by the photographer. Moments captured just as they happen. Reportage wedding photography captures genuine emotions as the subjects are usually totally unaware that the camera is focussed on them.

Our wedding photography style is a mixture of unposed reportage wedding photography and a more classical directed style.

Reportage wedding photographs are often best edited in black and white because this removes the distraction of colour from the emotions within the image. As the photographer is not directing reportage shots, items in the image will not be moved as they are an integral part of the moment. For our more traditional and styled images, the background willl be cleared and the image beautifully lit so these images often remain in colour.

If you book both of us to photograph your wedding, Barrie will be concentrating on capturing the more creative, directed photographs, while Bev will be looking out for these special moments going on around you, of which you will most likely be completely unaware. If you book one of us to photograph your wedding, we will photograph a mixture of both reportage and more directed photographs throughout the day.

If you would like to discuss your wedding in more detail please do get in touch.
