You have just agreed to get married and may want to broadcast the fact. However, certain conventions are worth considering whether you stick with them or not.

As soon as both sets of parents have been told your parents should meet. When the key players are all aware of your wedding plans you can tell everyone else.

Save the date cards can be a great way of letting people know your plans. Just be sure not to send them out until you have finalized your guest list.
