On your wedding day it is important that you feel comfortable with us around. Bev will join the bride in the morning, and photograph the build up and excitement of the pre wedding preparations.

Brides feel relaxed having a female photographer with them while they are getting ready and the photographs from this time vary from capturing moments of quiet reflection to great excitement. Bev has had a lot of experience of wedding preparations and is always happy to help out where possible!

Barrie will often photograph the groom on the golf course or clay pigeon shooting before they then move onto the serious part of tying cravats and rehearsing speeches. It has been know for the Groom and Ushers to visit a pub prior to arriving at the wedding venue and Barrie is very happy to join them!

Barrie will arrive at the church at the same time as the boys and will get photographs of your guests arriving and taking their seats as well as detail shots of the venue. Bev will arrive shortly before the bride having photographed the last few moments of getting into the bridal car.

The photographs we are able to take during the ceremony are at the discretion of the minister or registrar conducting the service. When you meet with them, it is worth asking what they allow and telling them we never use flash or move around during the ceremony itself. Barrie is usually discreetly positioned at the front of the venue and Bev will take pictures with a long lens from the back giving you a memory from your own perspective and that of your guests.

After the ceremony, we suggest that once your guests have congratulated you and we have taken some informal shots that we move on to the reception venue. You and your guests can have a drink and something to nibble on before moving on to the group shots.
We are not traditional ‘line up and shoot’ photographers but understand there will always be some required although we try to make these relaxed and enjoyable for everyone.

We appreciate that you and your guests want to have fun rather than standing around for hours and to achieve this we suggest you limit group photographs to five close groups and that you nominate someone who knows your guests to assist us. It is not taking the photographs that is time consuming, it is getting Great Aunt Maud out of the toilet or away from the champagne!

When you sit down for the wedding breakfast, we will leave you in peace to eat your meal. Nobody looks good with a mouthful of food! At this point we appreciate the chance to sit down and have something to eat and we ask that you provide us with a simple meal.
A plate of sandwiches in the bar is great but it does help to be close to the action to catch any unexpected goings on! We will photograph the speeches and it is during this time that we capture some great expressions of laughter, tears and occasionally embarrassment of you and your guests.

We also photograph your real cake cutting, we do not do fake cake cuttings as they just don’t have the same feeling as the real thing with your guests looking on.

Once the evening entertainment is underway we will stay for the first few dances and then leave you to party the night away with your guests. Of course if you have fireworks, we will stay for those as well!
This is just an outline of a typical day.

Obviously your wedding is individual and we are very happy to be as flexible as you need us to be to ensure that you are happy with the photographs you receive. The pre-wedding shoot is a great opportunity to discuss any special requests you may have.
