On your wedding day it is important that you feel comfortable with us around.
All of our photography packages begin with the final preparations of the Bride before she sets off for the ceremony. This is time to capture the little details of the dress, shoes and flowers that you have spent so long choosing. During this time we will also get unposed images of the Bride as she gets ready with her Bridesmaids and the excitement builds. Once the Bride is in her dress, a few beautiful portraits and perhaps some fun shots with Bridesmaids and parents.
If you book a two photographer package or if the Bride prefers not to have photographs before the ceremony, we can meet up with the Groom and the boys either on the golf course or in the pub calming the nerves!
We will arrive at the church in plenty of time and will get photographs of your guests arriving and taking their seats as well as detail shots of the venue before the arrival of the Bride.
The photographs we are able to take during the ceremony are at the discretion of the minister or registrar conducting the service. When you meet with them, it is worth asking what they allow and telling them we never use flash or move around during the ceremony itself. Ideaily we like to be positioned discreetly at the front of the church or civil ceremony venue but we are happy to shoot from the back if this is what is allowed.
After the ceremony, we suggest that once your guests have congratulated you and we have taken some informal shots that we move on to the reception venue. You and your guests can have a drink and something to nibble on before moving on to the group shots.
We are not traditional ‘line up and shoot’ photographers but understand there will always be some required although we try to make these relaxed and enjoyable for everyone.
We appreciate that you and your guests want to have fun rather than standing around for hours and to achieve this we suggest you limit group photographs to five close groups and that you nominate someone who knows your guests to assist us. It is not taking the photographs that is time consuming, it is getting Great Aunt Maud out of the toilet or away from the champagne!
Between the end of the ceremony and beginning of the wedding meal we will take a mixture of candid shots of you and your guests and we will also take the Bride and Groom away for some stunning signature shots on their own. This will take about 10 minutes on two or three occasions.
Depending on the package you select we will either leave you to enjoy your evening when you sit down for your meal (photographing the speeches and the cake cutting before the meal is served if you would like us to) or we will stay until after your first dance or fireworks.
Obviously your wedding is individual and we are very happy to be as flexible as you need us to be to ensure that you are happy with the photographs you receive. The pre-wedding shoot is a great opportunity to discuss any special requests you may have.
